Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved television series including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.
Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
