Ex- BBC Consultants Participate in Parliamentary Questioning After Assertions of Bias in Disclosed Memo
We open with inquiries from Conservative MP Caroline Dinenage, who chairs the committee.
She commences by giving details to the unauthorized memo prepared by Michael Prescott and printed in the Telegraph.
"I do not desire the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting toward one side or the other, I just want it neutral, unbiased and equitable," he says.
In response to a query if he considers the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, Prescott replies: "No I don't. To be clear, numerous aspects the BBC creates is world class - encompassing documentary and non-factual shows."
However, he continues: "There exists substantial tasks that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
The second former external BBC consultant questioned by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the BBC with great importance and that it has a "persistent practice and lively discussion" across evolving and intricate subjects.
"Whether the BBC was willing to engage in a proper discussion and debate and act accordingly?" she questions. "As I see it, yes they were."
