Hulu to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Creators of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The most recent action-packed instalment that gamers experienced was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is famous for celebrating violence and mayhem with equal enthusiasm, all while presenting engaging, socially charged tales. It’s no surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two producers whose creations have embodied all of those things.

What to Expect

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game franchise, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' format by featuring a fresh setting and ensemble in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is original, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally accommodating, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX family continues to lift me up with their constant confidence and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone show. Every instalment is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To develop a large-scale action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always examining the nature of humanity through this multifaceted and chaotic viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and present our shared bold, visionary style to the audience.”

A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
