Salah Issues Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the team after the fallout from his public comments.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a vital match subsequent to making accusations and stating his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the team's response remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also noted that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I understand there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Positive Results
Their results have been impressive in the period after the situation. Jones believes the Salah's words were not intended to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a good place,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and starting to win games.”
