The occupational hazards of group stage tennis typically lead to at this point of the season-ending championships viewers are commonly confused, searching around for a mathematical tool and attempting to calculate the brain-busting qualification scenarios. Should Zverev be cautious, like he was against Sinner, and Felix aggressively challenges the German with his effective service game and fearless play, it could well be the young Canadian – the one-time phenom who was once in line ahead of the Spanish and Italian stars to take over from the Big Three – who obtains the dubious honour of facing the global leader on Saturday.
